I don’t consider myself to be some kind of “very stable genius” or anything, but I do like to think I’m capable of operating with some degree of common sense.  And as I’ve witnessed the climate change movement evolve and name-change over the past couple decades, as I’ve watched those promoting it continue to live carbon-belching, energy-devouring lives, I’ve deduced that something more is at play here than an earnest desire to save the planet.

And if you pay attention to the core players in the movement, it isn’t too tough to figure out what the real motivation is.  Last Friday I wrote these words,

The anthropogenic (manmade) climate change movement has always been about control.  It’s always been about power.  If you can control the amount of energy people use, you can control people.  Seizing that kind of power arbitrarily could get messy, so it’s much easier to get people to surrender it willfully.  How do you accomplish that?

Perhaps there’s more than one way, but convincing them that they are saving the planet and all humanity in the process is certainly one approach.  And that’s where we are and will continue to be until voters wise up.

Some of the feedback I received for suggesting as much was predictably unreceptive asserting that I was nothing more than an ignorant “denier” with a strong aversion to fact-based science.  For what it’s worth, I never feel the need to defend myself against such accusations because I am always confident that the progressive left will manage to prove my point in time.  And in this case it only took a couple days.

The Daily Caller drew attention to a recent Washington Post report that detailed a conversation between the climate director for Washington state’s Warmer-in-Chief Governor and Democrat presidential hopeful Jay Inslee and the chief of staff for everyone’s favorite Congressional Socialist, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.  Here’s the part worth noting:

“The interesting thing about the Green New Deal, is it wasn’t originally a climate thing at all,” Chakrabarti said to Inslee’s climate director, Sam Ricketts.

“Do you guys think of it as a climate thing?” Because we really think of it as a how-do-you-change-the-entire-economy thing,” Chakrabarti added.

You got that right?  Under the veil of saving the planet from manmade global warming, the real motivation is changing the economic system of the United States.  And pray tell, do you suppose that those changes will reflect an approach that grants more freedom and liberty to the individual, or more power and jurisdiction to the governing elites?

It sure seems like I’ve heard or read that somewhere before.  I’m certainly not that smart, but this isn’t rocket science, folks.
