The day after the midterm elections, leftist Shahed Amanullah attempted to encourage fellow liberals who might have been discouraged at the limited scope of the expected “blue wave” by writing,

“If you feel sad today, just imagine Mike Pence swearing 2 women into Congress with the Qur’an.”

It’s doubtful Amanullah knew how appropriate the verb “swearing” would be when it came to one of those two women, the anti-Semitic racist Rashida Tlaib, who spent her first day as a Congresswoman attempting to defend her profanity directed at the sitting president.  More to the point, Amanullah’s tweet fell flat because, of course, the Vice President doesn’t swear in members of the House of Representatives; he swears in Senators.

But technical errors aside, the intent of the tweet was obvious – liberals should find joy that Mike Pence has to deal with two things he hates: women and Muslims.  But that’s not all Pence hates, according to the left.  He also hates lesbians and gays, transgenders, bisexuals, and every other color of the sexual revolutionary rainbow.  No one ever cites actual evidence for these scathing accusations against Pence other than his professed faith in orthodox Christianity.

But for modern progressivism, evidence is immaterial when you have a good narrative going.  That’s Saul Alinsky 101, after all: pick a target, isolate it, and demonize it whether you lack justification or not.  They’ve picked Pence, isolated him as though he is the only man in Washington who holds to this peculiar Christian sexual ethic, and they demonize him with impunity: homophobe, handmaid’s tale, transphobic, Islamophobe, and yes bi-sexual averse.

That’s where disgraced leftist entrepreneur Adam C. Best comes in.  I say disgraced because Adam is best known for his epic Twitter disaster of calling out the sports site Barstool Sports a few years back for the modern sin of objectifying women.  Moments after he called for the #MeToo swarms to besiege Barstool, these tweets of his own inconveniently emerged:

“(Actress Natalie) Portman’s thong shot from the Year Highness redband trailer sealed it. A year ago, following Sarah Marhsall, (Actress Mila) Kunis would’ve been my pick.”

“To answer your question, I take Portman over Kunis. Proven commodity, gonna age extremely well/stay thin, well educated.”

Pot/Kettle, Plank in the Eye, so on and so forth.  It doesn’t get much more misogynistic and objectifying than that.  If Adam weren’t in such bitter rebellion against Scriptural authority he might have been gently nudged to remember the admonition of Numbers 32:23 which counsels, “you have sinned against the LORD, and be sure your sin will find you out.”

So what’s a guy like Best to do if he wants to regain the confidence of his fellow progressives?  Attack the boogeyman Mike Pence, of course.  And that’s what he wrote just days ago:

“Homophobe Mike Pence had to swear in Kyrsten Sinema, the first out bisexual Senator in history, on a law book and not a bible. He seems uncomfortable and she’s having fun with it. This is everything.”

In order to fully appreciate how badly this attempted mockery of Pence fails, you really have to see the video of the swearing-in yourself (Best foolishly embedded it in his tweet).  It literally shows the precise opposite of what Best describes.  To anyone who is even remotely objective, there is nothing about Pence’s demeanor that changes, stiffens, or signals unease.  He is kind, polite, and helpful before administering her oath and genially congratulating her as “Senator.”

Thankfully, most everyone who responded to Best pointed out the same – that he was grasping at straws and revealing far more about his own ideological cult than anything that ails Mike Pence.

But this Penceaphobia exhibited by Best, Amanullah, the Women’s March, and virtually every other progressive in American culture today is a sad demonstration of the dangers of political tribalism.  They’ve come to believe their own propaganda no matter how divorced from reality it really is.  The left often criticizes Trumpists for their willingness to blindly believe the President’s ridiculous claims even when they lack evidence.  Physician, heal thyself.

Of course in the final analysis, it’s not just the Vice President.  Pence is merely the figurehead for the true phobia that has overtaken the modern left – Christophobia.  They don’t hate or fear the Christ they’ve made in their image; they fear and hate the Christ of Scripture that says you only love Him if you follow His commands.  That’s just so…so…so something Mike Pence would say.
