Do you know how much fun the Republican Party could have during this coming election season with the line from the Obama self-documentary “The Road We Traveled?”  That’s the campaign video that Team Obama put together where Tom Hanks embarrassed himself by providing the voice over.  Let’s put it this way: the copy he read for Woody in Toy Story was more believable than this.

The one line we had quite a bit of fun with was where Hanks intones, “He would not dwell in blame or dream in idealism.”  Forget his epic performances in Castaway or Forrest Gump, delivering a line like that without bursting out laughing may be Hanks’ greatest cinematic performance ever.  We’ve already documented why, rolling out the Obama Blame list on a previous show.

But now as the 2012 campaign begins to roll out, you know it’s going to get even better.  Obama is not going to be able to defend his miserable record in office, and so his already itchy blame finger is going to get even more restless.  Take, for instance, what just occurred once the story of the General Services Administration lavish Vegas conference broke:

The Obama administration is responding to the recent report that shows a federal agency spent more that $800,000 on a lavish conference near Las Vegas by putting some of the blame on the Bush administration.

“At least we have taken, bold, swift forceful action to hold those responsible accountable and put in place protections to make sure this never happened again,” a White House official told Fox News.

The Inspector General Office’s report last week about the 2010 General Services Administration conference outside of Las Vegas indicates the Obama administration knew about the trip since May 2010. The report was followed by a release of videos.

Two House committees now are probing the agency. One of those, the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, posted the video of the GSA employees online.

So how does the “not dwelling in blame,” “buck stops here” Obama administration respond to all this, you ask?  With something like, “Well Bush did it too.”

The administration also argued Friday night that the cost of the Western Regional Conference increased sharply under the Bush White House.

They went on to note that spending on this conference “only” rose 28% under Barack Obama.  That’s their defense.  Let’s just put it this way...personal responsibility is not big on the Obama administration list of notable qualities.  Someone should tell Tom Hanks.
